- Notice to Building Official. The owner or the owner's agent files a Notice to Building Official for use of a private provider, and updates it within one business day of any change to the listed providers or their services.
- Plan compliance affidavit. When the provider reviews plans, the provider submits an affidavit certifying compliance with the Florida Building Code and local amendments, together with the county's permit data and required inspections checklist.
- Scheduling and results. Providers notify the county of required inspections by 2 p.m. on the business day before, and submit results within two business days.
- Other county inspections. Inspections handled outside the Building Division, such as right-of-way, zoning, trees, fire, and coastal lighting, must still be scheduled directly with the county.
