What Collier County requires
- One-time provider registration. Providers register with the county's Contractor Licensing before starting work. The registration covers the trades each provider is qualified to review or inspect. Providers not licensed in every trade they handle are placed on restricted status.
- Documents with each permit. The county's submittal packet calls for a signed, sealed, and notarized Notice to Building Official, a letter on company letterhead describing the services, a list of inspections for all trades, and a notarized Plan Compliance Affidavit when the provider does plan review.
- Insurance and personnel. Providers supply a certificate of insurance for general and professional liability with Collier County as certificate holder, plus resumes and notarized employment affidavits for duly authorized representatives and proof of workers' compensation coverage or an exemption.
- Inspections. Inspections are scheduled through the county's online portal, and completed inspection records are uploaded as pass or fail within the time the county sets.
- Closeout. A signed and notarized Private Provider Certificate of Compliance and all completed inspection reports must be submitted before the county processes a certificate of occupancy.
